Dr. Ramos-Horta to Attend the 7th Intenational Students Festival in Trondheim

The Senior Minister Dr. Jose Ramos-Horta, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Nobel Peace Price Laureate will be attending the 7th International Students Festival in Trondheim (ISFiT) Oslo Norway, on 13th and 14 th of March 2003.
Dr. Ramos-Horta will be keynote speaker sharing the experiences from struggles for peace and justice for the 1000 students and academics. His presentation at the conference will be an inspiration to five hundred international participants, the three hundred volunteers, the university and the entire population of Trondheim and Norway.
During the International Students Festival Dr. Jose Ramos Horta will respond to questions relating to the future challenges of Timor-Leste, and social economic and security challenges.
The International Student Festival in Trondheim is the largest thematic student conference, gathering five hundred students from more than one hundred nations from March 7 to 16 2003 with the main theme of ISFiT 2003 is "Challenging Attitudes".
ISFiT is has made the major contribution to the knowledge about Timor-Leste in Norway. In year 2000 ISFiT arranged lectures and large popular sessions on the conflict of the country, where President Xanana Gusmão and Dr. Jose Ramos-Horta were the keynote Speakers. In the year 1999 ISFiT awarded Mr. Antero Benedito da Silva of East Timor the Students Peace Prize and has published numerous articles, chronicles and books on Timor Leste.
From Norway, Oslo, Dr. Jose Ramos-Horta will continue his trip to Geneva, Italy, The Vatican, Lisbon and Germany. Dr. Ramos-Horta is expected to return to Timor-Leste on 12 of April 2003.
