TIMOR-LESTE HOST THE 2nd JCM MINISTERIAL MEETING

The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste and the Republic of Indonesia will hold the 2nd high level Ministerial meeting in Dili, Memorial Hall, on 5th-6th September 2003. The 1st high level Ministerial meeting was held in Jakarta on 7-8 October 2002.

The delegation of Timor-Leste will be chaired by H.E. Dr Ramos-Horta and from Indonesia side will be chaired by H.E. Dr Hassan Wirajuda.

“During the two days meeting the five working groups from two countries will discuss the residual issues and to enhance future relationship between the two countries. The issues that going to be discuss are border issues, trade and finance, legal issues, social, education and cultural affairs as well as transport and telecommunication”, said Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Dr Olimpio Branco.

“Timor-Leste hopes that through this meeting the two countries will resolve the problems that remain and enhance the cordial relations between the two countries for the years to come”, added Vice Minister.

At the end the meeting the two Ministers will also sign the Joint Commission, follow by press conference.
