ESTABLISHEMENT OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF TIMOR-LESTE AND UNITED MEXICAN

In New York, the Senior Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, H.E. Mr. Jose Ramos-Horta and the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the United Mexican States, H.E. Mr. Luis Ernesto Derbez Bautista, signed a Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries at Ambassadorial level, on 26th September, 2003.

The relations between the two States will be based on the principles of international law and the goals and objectives of the United Nations.

The two countries are committed to developing and strengthening relations of friendship and cooperation in all areas.
United Mexican States is currently a member of the Security Council.
